Whilst in Bocas myself and two German guys (Thomas and Mario) organized to get a bus to Panama City at 8am after a very heavy night out getting back at 3 or 4 am to catch the boat back at the main land at 7.
Obviously this was very difficult but the three of us (there was meant to be 4 but I couldn’t get Joe out of bed) managed to get up and get to the dock just in time for the boat. All dazed, sick and hungover we made it to the bus station where we waited for the bus to pick us up, we had already paid the $20 for the ticket to get us all the way to the City but for some reason or another we happen to jump on the wrong bus that we later had to pay for… thankfully it was headed in the same direction but this meant this journey was going to be twice as expensive as it should have been… damn, we all make mistakes – normally I’m more tentative than this.
Anyways after 2 buses and more money spent than we should have we made it to Panama City where we found a cheap hotel for $13 each with free transportation there. At the bus station we tried to get a bit of a refund on the tickets we purchased but we were kicked around the office waiting in several times for the right person to show up.. we gave up shortly later, grabbed some fast food and got to the hotel.
