Happy Easter Everyone! There were about a dozen people in the hostel that I chatted to in the morning about my trip cycling and making my way over to Columbia, these were people on one of those tours that go around canada, much like the Contiki tours around Europe.
I didnt do much for the morning but when the afternoon hit I started drinking with Chris who is also a treeplanter. One noticable change from the beers in Canada compared to the beers in Central and South America is that the beers here are much stronger... all I need is about 4 beers here and Ill have a nice little buzz going – in Latin America it takes almost twice that.
I had a good time in the afternoon hanging about the hostel until I got in contact with Christina who lets me stay at her place everytime im in town. I was invited down the road to go to an Easter dinner where I met with a bunch who ive known for a little while. Included in this group was Phil who I first met about 9 months ago when I woke on his couch with quite the hangover – he had plans to go to central and south america then and when I was in Guatemala I bumped into him randomly.
I met Phils girlfriends mum (Linda) who cooked up the amazing feast and got an invite to go stay with her in Prince George if I have pass through there whilst planting.
It was a good fun party and later we headed back to Dicocco's (Christina) place to drink some more – Dico made some ceasers that were fantastic; these drinks are amazing, its essentially a bloody mary with clamato juice instead of tomato juice. I do have to bring these to Aus if and when I do return.
