For the last few days I’ve been trying Craigslist to look for an iPhone for this trip, after emailing and calling a bunch of people who were selling an older generation iPhone, I finally found one that was cheap and unlocked to use with any network carrier.

The main reason why I want the iphone is because of the GPS, I would like to get involved with Geocaching which is a internet site/ hobby that involves searching for caches that people have left in the middle of nowhere by means of a gps unit to find it, its like a worldwide treasure hunt. I was first introduced to it by I guy I hitch hiked with well over a year ago in Ontario, Canada and it really is good fun.

I went to go met the guy down close to Mission District where I tried contacting him using random people in the streets cell phones. It was a pretty rough area filled with meth heads and crack whores and I waited and waited for him in the street and he never showed. Perhaps he found someone who offered a better price but I would have been nice of him to tell me that. Anyways, he was asking $175 for the 3G model but I never got it. L, ill try getting one in LA or San Diego.

Because I was running about all morning I didn’t manage to pack up my things and get out the door till 2.30, whilst packing I made some cookies that was made up of the leftover dough I had in the fridge from the tart I made the other night. I added Apple bits and a shit load of sugar to make it work as there was still pepper in the dough, when baked it was pretty similar to shortbread biscuits and really tasty.

Getting out of the city without a map was a nightmare, I accidently got a little turned around and ended up on the interstate where I was petrified to cross the road and instead I had to cycle back the way I came into oncoming traffic to get on an off ramp out of there.

After asking around for directions a random guy gave me a map at a gas station, it didn’t really help as it didn’t have any closeups of the area but it was a nice gesture.

Towards the end of the day when I was cycling up the hill to get over to Half Moon Bay where there was no shoulder I was just in a pissed off mood; swearing at cars that got too close and some dicks that would sit behind me as I went downhill even when I gave them plenty of room to pass.

The terrain for the day wasn’t too tedious but I made it to the campground where there was a bunch of other cyclists. There were the two Germans Timo and Nicole an Old American Guy Brian and 2 other girls Abba and Emma.

The German couple bought their bikes at Target for $80 each and had their backpacks on their backs as they cycled down to LA… crazy. It would have been smarter to buy better bikes that they could sell, so I suppose they would just have to give them away.

I was nackard from not sleeping too well last night so after dinner (Pot noodles) I crashed out early.

Me again at the top of one of the hills
