Because Chang is such a slow cyclist Jeff and I left the campgrounds (without paying) before he got his shit together meeting up with him later in the town of
It was only a couple of miles down the road and we would be sticking around there for a while as I needed to do some shopping and use the internet at the library.
I needed to get a iPod part sent to Mohommads (the guy ill be couch surfing with) address in San Francisco so I can fix my iPod, I managed to sort it out online only hoping it will arrive before I leave there.
Chang stuck around town when Jeff and I had sorted out what we needed to but just before leaving the town I spotted an all you can eat Chinese buffet for cheap. We decided to go in and stuff our faces and like always I shoveled the food in until it hurt… Im just trying to make the most of it right? I reckon I knocked back at least 6 full plates of the variety of oriental foods. My technique is to use chopsticks as it takes longer to eat and your body can squeeze more in.
After about an hour of this eating session it was time to pay and get back on our bikes. I honestly felt I was intoxicated whist cycling to a point where I could of thrown up but that would have just been a waste of food so I held it back. It took only a couple of miles down the highway before I started getting the food sweats and I needed to lay down to digest. We found a park were I rested whilst Jeff went on ahead.
An hour or so had passed and with a bit of a nap I hopped back on my bike and set off to catch up with Jeff, the roads were steep and windy with a few hairpin turns that made things interesting on my bike with all the weight I’m carrying.
After a few hours of cycling by myself I caught up with Jeff just before the steepest incline of the Pacific coast cycle route, I managed but only just to cycle up the steep road whilst Jeff dismounted and walked it.
We made it to Manchester state park where apparently the host of the camp ground does his the early morning rounds to catch anyone who didn’t pay and fine them so I camped behind some bushes where some deer had slept the previous night, out of sight – out of mind, besides I’m not going to pay $5 if there are no showers.
Jeff and I walked down to the beach to check it out but it was much too foggy to see even a couple of feet in front of you.
I was still full from the lunchtime feast so I skipped dinner only munching on a few vegetables before crashing out for the night.
