Last night was absolutely terrible, it rained and it rained hard.

The torrential downpour broke my makeshift tent dousing me in water but yet instead of heading inside I just placed the tarp on top of myself and tried to sleep more, thankfully Valerie (Adams Mum) invited me inside and literally tucked me in… my mum away from home.

It rained all morning so we hung about after the delicious breakfast that Valerie cooked drinking coffee and bailey mixed… it was a cool morning, yet I was still in dire need of more sleep.

We kept on checking the weather for a break where the sun poked through the overcast sky and we got back on the road at 1 pm but only cycling for 12 miles before the heavens opened up and we again were bogged down in the rain at Crystal cove state park having to actually shelter inside the toilet block for several hours where we ate lunch hoping the weather would clear.

Again we had to consider our options with accommodation of the evening as it was getting late, thankfully using Jason’s phone again we were able to contact a member of warm showers. I called up Diane and Dennis Baker and they were kind enough to let us stay with them 2 Miles down the Highway at Corona Del Mar (in the opposite direction).

It was a wet cycle but we made it! WTF! Its Southern California and some guy said it was only suppose to rain 2 times a year here, all this rain is certainly unexpected.

Dennis and Diane was very hospitable offing us showers and sorting out our sleeping arrangements. Good people.

The three of us went for dinner at a Thai restaurant and bought some ice-cream for dessert; we sat around reading back at D and D’s place and before long we all crashed out.
