The First day of October, and today I arrived in San Francisco.

Jeff and I left the campground and Silke and Bernd behind to get on our way, it was very generous of them to pay for the camp site and for the beer I drank last night making feel a little hung-over and tired in the morning.

But all was good, I pushed on through the dehydration and the pain of the hangover, I didn’t learn my lesson from last time I cycled in this condition, but oh well, im sure its going to happen a lot more on this trip.

I thought Ill also mention that today I was cycling through Marin County today which is where my bike was designed and also where I started having some issues with the gears, thankfully along the way I stopped at a bike shop also where jeff and I had lunch and they fixed it in a jiffy for free.

For most of the day it was cycling though the suburbs of San Fran, it was cycle paths for the most part which kept us off the busy freeways and really wasn’t as bad of a cycle than I expected it would be.

Jeff, whilst cycling with him has taught me quite a lot about edible wild fruit and whilst on one bike route today he stopped me and went off into the bushes beside the freeway and came back with $10 worth of figs, its great that im learning about these things and they were delicious too.

We crossed the Golden Gate Bridge where we had to avoid collisions with the crazy amount of snap-happy tourists on it, but this was because it was such a nice day and the views surrounding were visible as normally it is quite foggy.

I was meeting the girl who I would be staying with at 5 pm so I left Jeff soon after getting off the bridge and set off to meet her.

Cyndi is a very generous and trusting nurse who gave me the key to her house even before getting to know me. I cooked her dinner which was just a quick stir-fry with the ingredients she had in her fridge and se went off for the night to stay with her boyfriend.

She helped me plan some routes I can do around town on my bike and some of the party areas I should check out. I was going to head out tonight but as it was getting late I was getting tired so instead I went to bed… pretty lame for a Friday night. I have all day to check the city out tomorrow without a hangover and I can spoil myself tomorrow evening with copious amounts of booze. So, goodnight.
